Royal Coachman MARABOU

Last evening I came across an brief writeup about this pattern with recipe and photo.
Now I can’t find it. Can anyone help?

I did download a pic of the one I’m looking for and it’s too bad I can’t copy/paste it into this reply. I recall it called for a 6XL hook and I wanted to confirm that. Thanks for your concern.

That sounds like one of the pictures from a fly swap. REE has a website that has pictures of his fly swaps, I think that is where you want to go.

That’s the pic. Thanks EdD. Now all I need is confirmation about the hook being a 6XL.

The hook in the pic linked by EdD looks like a Mustad 79580 to me, which would be a 4X I believe.

Ray,
If it helps any I tied a Royal Coachman Bucktail for the Beginner Swap that EdD linked to. I know it isn’t quite what you’re looking for, but that fly was tied on a 6x streamer hook, a Mustad 9575. I think that the flies would be identical except for the winging material. Hopefully that helps at least a little bit.
