Roos Caddis Pupae (variation)

From Swedish tyer Thomas Roos; used his fly as a base but it became an adventure in compound loop dubbing, swapping out the CdC body and back, mainly because my CDC supply is pretty much used up.

hook - WFC Model 3 #14
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
shuck/back - Congo Hair shiner tan
abdomen - Ice Dub hare?s ear
thorax - dubbing squirrel/hare?s ear
legs - deer hair

Part 1

Start thread at 3/4 mark; tie in CH, wrap to bend

Dub thread/dub abdomen to 3/4 mark

Separate some CH fibers for the shuck, pull the rest over the top, creating a hump; tie down/trim

Create thread loop

Clean, stack, measure (1.5 x gap width) some deer hair; insert in clip, trim to length, add some dubbing

Part 2

Wax thread loop, insert clip, trap hair/dubbing, spin loop

Stroke fibers back, wrap loop, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
