I know Ohiotuber’s granddaughter can cast a fly rod at 2-1/2, but I decided to build a couple of spinning rods for my grandkids. Once they get the bug for fishing, I’ll work on the fly rods for them. The blanks are both the same (6’-0" 2-6#), but I wanted them to be unique so I made reel seats from acrylic pen blanks in their favorite colors, and made the cork grips different for each rod. This way they know their rod was made just for them. I used color preserver so the color of the wraps shows thru. New Shimano Sedona reels as well.
Great rods Joe all you need to get them now is teardrop shaped floats with screw eyes on each end. line to the small eye end, 3 feet of mono on the rear to a supply of your well tied flies.BILL
Joe,
Having seen those rods at your house, I will say that the most impressive thing about them is the LOVE you put into them…PRICELESS!!
Thanks for posting.
