I just found out a few minutes ago, that we lost a fly tying friend, Rodger Oleson. This is very sad news. Rodger was a friend. He will be greatly missed. I think he went by the nick Rodger Ole on several forums.

Kelly,

I am sorry for your loss. Prayers for you, his family and friends.

God Bless.

Thanks. I met Bugman because of Rodger. I am gonna miss Rodger, he was a great guy.

Over the years Rodger sent me a variety of articles he thought I should see…some serious, some humorous. I never met him in person…but he will be missed here.
My sympathy to all.
Hugs,
LF

Rodger also sent me stuff and a wonderful book. I am so saddened by this, I will miss Rodger a lot. We were good internet friends.

Love from one Roger to another Rodger, go in peace my friend.

Even though you spelled your name wrong, I still liked ya anyway… ( private joke between Rodger and me )

Ladyfisher, he did the same with me. He sent me all kinds of emails about different topics. He sent me photos of flies he thought I would like to see too. He was a wonderful man, and I wish there were more like him. I am gonna miss him. I thought it was strange I hadn’t had any email in a few days. One of the funniest things he used to send me was Wal-Mart shopper emails. They always made me laugh. Sometimes I even laughed to the point of literal tears.

I’ll miss Rodger, he was always a pleasure to chat with. RIP my friend.

Rodger was a member of my Beginner’s Only Fly Swaps. I got into a habit of calling him, when I needed someone to talk to. Rodger would call me sometimes.

I knew that Rodger was not in the best of health, with our phone conversations, we both help to cheer each other…

Rodger was my friend, and remains so, even with his death.

I know that when it is my turn, that Rodger will be waiting to greet me on the other side… along with other members of FAOL, who have moved on!

Steven, that was beautiful. I miss Rodger.
