I’d like some advice on Salmon fishing as well please. I have a 8’ long 6/7 weight rod that was given to me by a buddy. I have no reel or line on it right now. I’d like to fish the American River when the Salmon start running in the fall since it’s about a mile from my workplace.

Is the 6/7 weight rod strong enough for Salmon?
