Reflections on LF's column (the bird flu escapades)

So it dawned on me that there’s a wonderful way to keep on tying without the risk (er…NON-risk) of contracting avian flu from imported feathers. If we all tie hoppers and foam beetles, we’ll be immune (har har) to the effects of bird flu.

I used the Flu deal to stock up on hackle LOL. (Like I need more.) But a tier can always use more hackle, Someday  Ron

Did you hear about the pope? He caught the bird flu. I heard he got it from a cardinal!

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

That was a well written piece. 8)

LF I really enjoyed your article on the bird flu. It is good once in a while to dispell these boogey man stories and hold them up to the light of day.
Thanks for such a well written timely article.

One of my pet peeves is the media either hyping something out of control, or just lying…we used to call that “yellow journalism” when I worked in the business. Very little real information today, mostly opinion. Disaster sells.

I have taken to getting news bites from two sources for reasons you cite:

  1. Drudge Report.com

&

  1. Lucianne.com

Lucianne is a blog that allows readers to quote snippets of stories, link to source articles and then allows readers to post comments in a blog; real-time. The Lucianne members, a lot of them anyways, are washington insiders and news types: so their comments are pricless and usually cut to the chase on every topic that is newsworthy.

Oh Forgot Coast to coast AM on the Radio for Conspiracy theories and things that go bump. At Night. Yep-Art Bell.

NPR has lost me as a seriuos listener due to being downright slanted. I do listen though-even if the Bird Flu Epidemic News is a scare tactic.
