Dear All:

I have a Sage SP 5wt on which the rod butt section seems to be coming away from the reel seat. It has been suggezted to me that I could heat the reel seat with a hair dryer until the glue completely lets go and then re-seat the reel seat and re-glue it. A couple of questions. Is this going to ruin my warranty? Am I really going to melt or dry the glue to the point where I reasonably expect to get the butt section off? What kind of glue, 5 minute epoxy? Finally, is this nuts? Should I just pay the freight and send it to Sage for repair?

Sent it to Sage. There might be more wrong than what you can see. Why take the chance.

You paid for the warranty, use it. Send the rod to Sage. Their warranty work is terrific, great service also.
