I guess this is directed at JC but anyone else chime in.
In the recent, May 2005, issue of Fly Fisherman the article “Diagnosing Your Cast” by Ed Jaworowski on p. 41 it looks to me like the reel is out on the distance cast.
Is his premise correct…for distance casts…and is the “reel out”? Please discuss…I’m confused.
It is a VERY common mistake. And yes, it really is a mistake if, (big if) distance and /or accuracy is important. Which is why the article appeared in the "Advanced Fly Fishing " section.
