This is what fishing on the Lochsa could be like.
Picture was taken at the 2003 Idaho Fish-In, on the Locksa, right in front of the cabins at the resort.
Just one question. Did you have a ghillie to tie on your flies and unhook your fish. I just know there was a servant to bring you some refreshment whilst you angled with the flye.

I once found a chair like that on the Grande Rhonde…only it had a hole cut in the seat for obvious reasons…makes one wonder
Ha ha thats how I fish! I am planning on going to the fish-in on the 24th what flies should I be tying? does anybody know?
Gnu,
October Caddis size 6 and 8, Cinnamon Caddis sizes 8 and 10, BWO’s 16 to 20, Ants 10-20, Elk Hair Caddis sizes 10 and 12.
That should get you started. Bring your tying stuff. Lots of room to tie in the evenings in the Rumpus Room (What is a rumpus anyway?)

Your picture reminds me of a good friend that owns some property on the Methow River here in Washington(and yes that is why he is such a good friend). After spending a hot summer day floating the river fishing for cutthroat and rainbows my friend was sitting in a lawn chair in the river in about 2 feet of water wearing only shorts casting, now get this, an elk hair caddis to rising white fish. I didn’t have a camera but it is a sight I will never forget.
Man that really is “lotech”, Where’s the beer holder??
Oh! Geeze! now I will have to go out and get some of those huge sized 8 and 10 hooks. I have been using #22 on up to My big ones #14. My buddy ties and uses #34. I think he’s nuts.
I do have a dozen or so Elk hair caddis allready tied in #12s .
Thanks Ron I really appreciate that. I fish small barbless hooks in the mountain lakes around here. All wets, nymphs and the like but zero experience with drys. Except one magical night with elk hair drys at a nearby trophy lake for a dozen 4-5lb rainbows on a borrowed dry line. I really have zero experience with flys on moving water. I can read water pretty well as I was an avid spin fisherman. LF and JC have assured everyone that there is always plenty of helpful advise so I am planning to pick brains when I get there.
If your friend Ruth has left the building does that make you ruthless?
Gnu bee, we sure are looking forward to meeting you. Drive safe; see ye in Idaho.
Ray,
Please be assured there is no beer holder on my chair. But, what you can’t see from the photo is the trailer hitch. Wait till you see my new tent. I offered to rent out the second story to my boss, just to keep track of me.
Joe,
“Where’s The Beer Holder?” Do you have a secret past that I don’t know about??
Doug :?: :?:
