Red Mucilin/Green Mucilin?

Who knows what Red Mucillin might be? Back in the '60s the concensus was that it was lanolin. Sheep fat floats - as do a variety of other “water-proofers”

Name indicates where I fish and for what I fish.

this is one heck of a hard-as-brass mystery! So far we have found out that it might be deer fat but that its likelly not. I never imagined it would be this tough to solve

I’m pretty sure littlebrook is correct…back then our local fly shop guy [Dave McNeese] supposedly improved on the green by making and selling his own concoction of lanolin and silicone.

well heck. I have to give up this and just stick with what I know about. But it sure has been good to see all you folks chiming in on this point.

If anybody comes up with more Red Mucilin info may it jog yer memory and that you post it here
