Playing around with Whitlock’s original pattern. I thought I would try my dubbing block to make a collar of squirrel hair in a dubbing loop instead of the standard soft hackle feathers.
very buggy nice tie. i think you got the density of the collar just right. i don’t think i ever seen squirrel tail used like that very creative
Nice looking patterns and very well tied. I really like bushy nymph patterns as I think they “look” fishy to me. Nice work with the squirrel hair. That stuff tends to be slippery and doesn’t always want to behave at the vise.

Sometime I mix it up and use Australian opossum, the hair are almost like the squirrel, but have more bends and frizz to them.
Sort of looks like my kids hair when they get up in the morning. LOL
