Well, so much for my fishing this week. This stalled front and tropical hook up set a 24 hour rainfall record at Harrisburg yesterday. Many area creeks have flooded and now we have a wary eye on the Susquehanna and Juniata rivers. Sherman’s Creek just put under flood warning. Anyone in the flood area that needs my help just post it here. All are in my prayers.
Shame for the high water. Thurs, night on way home from Little Juanita and The one open spot on Spruce I stopped for gas at Duncannon. The white flies looked like snow there were so many. Hatch may be further upstream by time water comes back down. I wet wade. Right now that would be most interesting. As you guys know we have three streams near Harrisburg that will be fishing well by Weds. Lucky us.
Be very careful on those local streams! Debris in the water and a high rate of flow can spell disaster. Might be a good time to fish some of the local still waters. The fair weather types should all be indoors.
We have had some of the worst of it here in Chester County, countless homes and businesses flooded, roads closed and it keeps coming. People clean up only to be flooded again the next day. These floods are hitting people that are not near rivers necessarily and it is just coming down too hard and fast for the storm systems to handle; thanks to the all the development and loss of open space. My daughter was caught up in it Saturday night and called me several times for directions because she kept coming across flooded roads. Thankfully she finally made it home safe after a two hour drive that should have taken thirty minutes.

Your making big news here in Michigan. Alexander was mentioned as being hit hard. I have driven the beltline, I just can’t imagine the terriable condions you must be having. Take care, stay dry and pray for sun.
We are due for 8 straight days of thunder storms. We need a thunder storm like we need a can of worms to fish with.

Jerry,
A very wise young lady. You did a good job raising her. The National Weather Service catch phrase “Turn around, don’t drown” is great advice. I am glad she is safe and sound.
