Quigley Cripple Parachute (variation) SBS

A few minor changes to the original. Tied here as a PMD; the synth wing is much more manageable in smaller sizes like this. Just playing around with some ideas; this probably won’t be the last iteration.

hook - WFC Model 3 #16
thread - MFC 8/0 cream
tail - pheasant tail
shuck - sparkle yarn brown
rib - x-small wire copper
abdomen - pheasant tail
wing/wingpad - Congo Hair baitfish tan
thorax - dubbing pale yellow
hackle - ginger

Part 1mash barb, start thread, tie in rib, wrap to bend

strip some pt fibers, measure (gap width), tie in

wrap to 2/3 mark; tie off/trim

tie in yarn

counterrib with wire, helicopter end/cover with thread; trim shuck (1/2 tail length)

tie in CH over eye

dub thorax

Part 2

pull CH forward over thorax; tie down

set wing angle with thread dam in front; post wing

tie in hackle, wrap up post, shiny side out

wrap hackle down post, cup side up

half hitch x 2 at base of wing; trim hackle, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim wing
