I just bought an Albright rod and haven’t had the chance to cast it yet. Does anyone in our family have any info about Albright rods? Who are they? Where do they come from? How long have they been in the industry? I just bought a 9’ 9 weight 2 piece, and it looks great. I’m planning on using it for Tiger Muskies in Eastern Washington. I’m waiting to get a line suitable for the rod to cast it and any information would be awesome.

Albright was formed by Jim Murphy, formerly of Redington, after Sage acquired Redington four or five years ago.
Albright rods are made in Asia and they are quite nice, at least the ones that I have looked at and cast, and comparable to other rods in their price ranges.
I have notice from their website that they are now selling their gear direct at lower prices than they were previously through a more conventional distribution network. Don’t know if there has been a management/ownership change.
