Reuel, I noticed that you live in Columbia MO, we are going to be there over memorial day weekend, are there any places to fly fish down there. I live in St. Louis and have only found a handful of places around here. Thanks for any reply. Feel free to email me.

zim… I think Reuel is heading out of town in the next couple days for Colorado and may be packing. Go to Flyfishingarkansas.com. There is a bunch of guys there from Mo and may be able to help you out.

There is no greater fan of flyfishing than the worm.

Drew,
My wife’s family lives in Columbia and I usually take the gear when we go so my son and I can slip away from the, well, Inlaws.
As far as trout go you probably need to go towards the Springfield area before you get to any, that I am aware of. And if anyone else knows differently please speak up.
But if you are ok with warmwater then there are a few small lakes and ponds in Columbia itself. My son and I are fond of a little lake just to the east of Columbia called Little Dixie. It has the usuall warm water species and seems to be a pretty nice body of water.
And for a little loger drive there is Mark Twain to the NE and of course Truman and Lake of the Ozarks to the South.
Good luck!
Missouri Trout waters are pretty easy to find. Look in the fish and game rules book.
Montauk Park is near Salem, Meramac Springs is near Cuba for some water near St. Louis.
Montauk is the head-waters for Current River, Which has trout.
I’d ask the folks at “Feather-Craft” what’s hot, they are good folks. [url=http://www.feather-craft.com:c95c4]www.feather-craft.com[/url:c95c4] should find their contact info there.
Mo has a whole bunch of small rivers/creeks as Wild Trout Management Areas and such.

Thanks, wish you could be there, it would be nice to meet you. I will give the blue gill lake a try, don’t have a pontoon, or pfd, so I may stay away from the bigger lakes, but I will definately stop by the fly shop.
Thanks to everyone who answered.

A bum-legged old man and a drunk. That’s all you got?
That’s WHAT I got.
