I do have the video. It is a VHS tape. I looked into having it transferred to DVD in what ever format, and it’s surprisingly cheap. I just have to get off my butt and do it. For that matter I have 3 DVDs of Al Troth tying in Bozeman too. I’m not sure what the copyright deal is on the Al Troth stuff. They are rare. Only a dozen or so copies were ever made. I’ll try to track that down. I’d love to be able to offer those for free.
I also have 3 audio tapes made by George Grant, that I bought directly from George 30 years ago. 1978 I think. And once again I’m not sure what the copyright deal is. Thanks for reminding me Byron. I’ll try to track it down. The Bing Lempke stuff I am free to distribute. But I need to get the DVD conversion made first.
The other stuff I have to find out about.
Ah. And it’s Pittendrigh. Gaelic for “Last of the Druids” by some accounts. Or “Farm on a hill” by others. It depends on whether it derives from druach or dreich I think.

Chuck I’m sorry I spaced and held on to it all this time. It’s been a busy time for me, last few years. But I did just retire, two months back. And I will have it converted to an internet-friendly format. And make it freely available to everybody. Soon.

The video shows him with a persistent, heavy smoker’s cough. Maybe that’s what did him in. Very creative tier, though.

OK. I have it transferred to DVD now. I need to “rip” it so it can be posted on the internet–on my website. Maybe I’ll even put it on Utube. I’ll try to get it together soon. I just got off the river. Brain dead sun stroked and tired. And it’s beer thirty right now. Ain’t gonna happen today.

I’m burning the DVD (to send out) right now. There is a ten minute youtube playing limit. And this video is a lot longer. If I get it ripped to flash or mpeg format I’ll experiment with showing the whole thing from my website. If that isn’t practical I might be able to put it on dropbox, or something like that. Stay tuned. I should get this sorted out soon. Sometime before … next year?

Yes. It does show Bing talking and tying a Green Drake. But it’s toward the end of an hour or more of raw un-edited video. You have to listen patiently for details. For people who aren’t patient, this is taxing. This footage needs to be edited.
I graduated college (at age 45) with Tau Beta Pi honors in computer science. Wrote software for 15 years. Wrote the core technical argument for a R01 grant that got 2-1/2 million dollars over five years. Paid my salary and two others over that period. And I’ll be damned if I can copy this ,*(K #@!(*g DVD. I gave up on Linux. Went to Mac “disk utility,” which keeps burning DVDs that have the right number of bytes, but “wrong file permissions.” (permissions I don’t believe. That’s an erroneous error message).
I suppose I’ll have to try booting Windoze at some point. I made a career vow to someday retire without ever needing Microsoft. And I made it. December 31st 2011 was my last day. I’m on SS, investments and TIAA Cref now. And here I am four months later. Seemingly in need of Microlimp. This really **** me off. We’re still in the computer dark ages. I can copy most video DVDs no problem. But this oddball disk was made (I paid for it) by ripping a VHS tape. And it ain’t working out. Not yet. Actually the copies I made with linux play on linux. But not on Mac. The copies I made with Mac don’t play on either system.
For God’s sake, Pitt - don’t ruin it. I’ll pay if you take it somewhere to have copies made. Gotta protect the original. Sort of like protecting the Sand Man.
I use Macs. Never liked DOS or Windose!
