Has anyone ever heard of a dry fly recipe called a Quackenkill?
The named stream is in upper New York state east of Albany.
All I recall is that the fly was basically gray, heavily hackled and with a touch of orange color in a downwing area. Thanks.
Are you sure you dont mean the battenkill?
Quackenkill absolutely. It’s many miles from the Batttenkill with which I’m also familiar. FWIW We’ve stayed and fished Bomoseen for bass for years but still think Lake Hortonia is better. ![]()
“Quack”? Yes.
