PUTTING AWAY THE TOYS

During the week we hooked up the canoe trailer and spent one last day trying to fool some trout on a prairie reservoir that?s a couple hours? drive away from our Montana home. At least that was the plan. Our success at this particular lake this year has been dismal and this last trip was no exception. When we left home the weather was clear and bright with not a breath of wind blowing, but as we approached our destination the wind began to blow.

Baja coast…Gila River…White Mountains…you have some fishing options within striking distance of southeastern Arizona. Trust me! I’ve spent the past 2 years stuck living only a 4 hour drive due East of Tucson in El Paso, TX. It’s lonely down here for a fly angler. LOL

No Baja Coast - I don’t do Mexico. I’m afraid that I am too spoiled by the wild trout fishing that I have here just outside my doorstep here in Montana.

There is some very interesting wild trout and smallmouth bass fishing not far from you. And the smallmouth bass fishing is best in the winter.
