When comparing pure fluorocarbon leaders with coated fluorocarbon leaders…
Do they both become equally “invisible” under water?
Do they both weigh the same so that sink rates are equal?
Coated is cheaper.

Can’t see the coated being as strong if most of it is mono. How much cheaper is it?
Without checking closely I’d say about 25% less…
coated fluoro is made for spinning reels, not that you cannot use it for leader materal. much limper and comes on 100 yards spool or better. i like pure fluoro, tuff stuff in 25 yards spools. flyman 3 pottsville
I use pure 6lb floro on my spinning reel. When I get snagged, i’m amazed how hard I can pull on it.
Plus the coated will turn white after awhile. I personally don’t think it is a s strong, plus it has to be a little bigger diameter with the coating, however I could be wrong.
How can you do any better than 100%. 8)
