Just wondering?
Thanks in advance,

There are companies that pre-grind guide feet. The problem is they still need to be corrected before being used !!!
I have tried several brands of pre-shaped guides,as Pan Fisher said they still need some final dressing. One thing that helped me was finding a way to hold them. I found a small 4" long vice-grip pliers with a needle nose jaw. I ground the jaw tips into a slightlty rounded “bird’s beak” point and covered them with some heat shrink tubing to prevent scratching. This handle makes it much easer to dress the feet.

Give these folks a try. Right out of the box and they will be fine. About the only guide that I have found that will.
leo’s option above is spot on. snake brand guides are great. I’ve got to place an order w/ them asap.
In addition to Snake Guides (the brand) being ready to go … Fuji SiC Titanium guides (solid Titanium not Titanium Chrome) are ready to go as well. Now you have a choice for both conventional and ceramic.
Thanks for the info guys!
I really appreciate it.
I was wondering if any of you tried the REC flexable snake guides, someone told me that they might be pre grinded.
Thanks,
chris
I’ve used the recoil guides and they are predressed.
pretty neat guides too. put them on a steffans 4wt.
The REC guides are definitely another option - paired with a Fuji SiC stripper and top, they do nicely.
I haven’t used the snake brand stuff but the Fuji guides I have used need very little touchup before using
hopkins and holloways are pretty good out of the box too
Putting the guide in a old vice makes the filing way easier. I say old vice because I have a tendency to hit the vice jaws as I file the guide ft.
Thanks for all the great info guys!
Next question;
Where can I pick up a complete set ( sold as set/or kit ),of REC guides?
Have a great weekend,
