G’day,
does anyone know where I can get a good source of Bug Bodies from, I particulary want #10 and #8 Spider Bug Bodies. They are like hens teeth over here in Australia, I use them for making a very good floating Mudeye pattern, called the Cubit Mudeye.
Cheers
Shane

Shane if you know someone that works around cars or truck ask them for some steel gas line. You can squeeze it in a wood vise to shape sharpen the end and punch out your bodies. I have 3 sizes.
What color are you looking for–Jans Netcraft only has white and black.
Hi Bill,
I really want brown, tan, green or even yellow bug bodies. Wapsi make them, but I’ve tried to find them on the web with no luck, if I could find a good source, I’d order a bulk lot over.
Wapsi, is wholesale only, selling to retailers. Check the “Sponsor” page of FAOL, for the many retail Fly Tying Merchants listed there. I am sure they can mail to Australia, using either the International shipping through the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx or United Parcel Service.

I looked through several of the sponsors who carry fly tying supplies and I couldn’t find them. I finally turned them up at Bass Pro Shops. They had black and white. I’m surprised these were so hard to find. Most of the shops around here carry them, but they don’t have web sites.
Shane,
Check out [url=http://www.jannsnetcraft.com:8ce51]www.jannsnetcraft.com[/url:8ce51] …their site used to be difficult to navigate, but not anymore! It’s a really nice site & easy to find those bodies. Only white & black, but look at the styles Netcraft has…there is a shop near me where I picked up yellow & light green last year. If you would like, I’ll pick some up for you & send them across.
Mike
