This one is a Powell 968-2. Blank color is dark blue. Reel seat is a Batson, grip & butt I did out of all brown burl and some rubberized accent ends. Main wraps are Royal Blue with CP and then the trim is blue metallic which is only one shade darker than the main wraps so it’s a very subtle look. Guides are single foot guides but I did Forhan locking wraps on them to secure them nicely. Alos added some blue accent wraps to the locking nuts on the reel seat.
Very nice - were the single foots requested or was that your discretion and are you seeing more 7wt+ with single foot guides - is there an advantage/disadvantage? Thanks!
Single foots were requested by the customer Dave. I normally do double foots on 8wt’s, so just to be on the safe side I did the Forhan locking wraps on these single foots so they are sure to stay in place.
I have noticed the past year or two that more guys have been going with SF’s on more rods. There’s isn;t really any advantage except for a very very minute weight savings, but it’s not even enough to really even say much about though.
That’s the seat I bought to put on my Sage VT2 690-4 blank. Nice touch on the thread on the nuts. I was considering adding that to my build so it’s great to see how it will look. Even the right color!
