Does it seem like if a “Things for Sale” post is by a new member it has a high percentage of being a commercial?
Not to judge, but starting out on this board selling or advertising, before establishing credibility through posting, is not a positive start. It may be well meaning, but could be a scam as well…it does throw a “red flag” out.

Mike,
I really agree with that. I think it’s a privilege to be able to post something for sale on this bulletin board and would be embarassed to do so if I hadn’t established a relationship…even if it wasn’t a commercial.
Hey Folks,
Keeping in mind that FAOL is supported
by advertisers, who make this site possible,
it seems to me that placing commercial adds
in the things for sale column takes some

Glad to know that some information is not made available!
Though I am sorry to hear I cannot post my answer to the “Popells Pocket Fisherman” here.
The “Cactus Jack Pocket 9’ 5wt.” for only $19.95 + shipping and handling!! Shucks!
JUST A JOKE FOLKS!!
I do truly enjoy this BB!
Being a newbie I tend to step in gently, except here!

another fishing bb I belong to had had a similar problem recently, we will live with commercial enterprises in the for sale board, partially because many of the members are importers and/or distributors etc. So the odd, “we are getting XXX in” etc is fine. What we all have objected to is a certain tour operator spamming the board and members privately consistently. I guess it is the same here. To add insult to injury he got stroppy and then started accusing the board of elitism. I think he got the message after 200 one word replies of “prat” by individual members.
nope this was about spear fishing on a generic fishing board,. He is gone with his tail between his legs.
Tyflier, I had some e-mails from the guy in Argentina with the “absolutly last chance plea”. He has been relegated to my SPAM list.
