I’m planning on going to the Fly Fishing Show in March at the Portland, Oregon Convention Center. Although I’ve been to the shows in California several times, I’ve never been to the Portland Show. I’ve found motels on Google, but am not familiar with the neighborhood. Any suggestions on a “safe” motel close to the Convention Center? Maybe within walking distance.

Your as safe as anywhere IMO
First of all, do you think this show will be as good as the ones in CA? I’m hoping so. The previous shows at the convention center grew weaker each year until they folded.
& B> there are many Motels in the area, one’s like a block away, the convention center motel? I’d do a “motel search” on google.

Don’t forget the expo in Albany March 9 & 10…it’s the former one day Eugene Fly Tying expo which has been moved and changed to 2 days… over 150 tyers.
