I’m building a few rods for Christmas gifts. One of the blanks I ordered has an area about an inch long that wasn’t covered with the rod finish. In other words, it is not glossy as is the rest of the blank. What can I do to finish it and have it blend with the rest of the rod which is finished just fine?
Just return it and work on the other rods first. You shouldn’t have any problems returning an obviouse factory defect.
That could also depend on where it is located. A lot of rods are unfinished down by the butt, but the handle and seat installs over it. But if it isn’t covered by the seat/grip, return it.
