Pontoon Boats

I’ve been looking for a boat that I can take in the creeks and marshes of coastal North Carolina. Recently, I’ve been looking at inflatable pontoon boats as a relatively inexpensive option. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on the matter? My wife will let me get a boat, just not one that can get back in the creeks.

This is what kayaks are all about.
A recreational yak would suit your needs very well.
The Wilderness Systems Pungo is very popular and cheap this time of year. You can get one on sale from a big box store.
Or,look around to find one that suits you better, there are many kayaks to chose from and many of the larger shops will soon be having demo days.

fishing will do a lot for a man, but it won’t make him truthful

I guess I forgot to mention that I’m a big clumsy guy who needs stability. I’ve looked into kayaks, but came to the conclusion that I need a more stable watercraft. Honestly, I’d probably spend more time IN the water than ON the water if I were to try a kayak. Thanks for the suggestion though.

NC, kayaks are suprisingly stable
Hit a demo day at your local outfitter and try some out.

I own a hobie toon…Go for the YAK!!!
and get it right the first time…I’m seriously considering selling alot of my equip for just that…a Hobie Yak…of the hands free variety!!

I don’t think anything out there would be more pleasurable for fishing!! just MHO

NCV, I know of a few guides who fish the salt with these around Vancouver Island, they are certainly pretty stable and quick on the water. I was out belly boating in quite a swell and one of these zoomed by me at a rate of knots.

The guys that use these say that if the boat lasts two seasons of good use then they are doing well, as the frames are not made with the salt in mind. One guy was proud to show me his three season old boat with quite a few home made welds and replacement sections.

Though as the other guys say, some of these yaks are remarkably stable.
