AK Best is Hugo’s guest for this podcast.
Great podcast. AK is my favorite fly tyer. I love his presentation at the Fly Fishing Show in Pleasanton, CA. I never miss an opportunity to watch him tie when he comes to the Bay Area. You learn so much from him. He is also one of the most approachable and engaging fly fishing personalities out there. Thanks Dr. Hugo for doing this interview.
Thanks and Kudos for the podcast, Dr. Hugo. That was fun to hear him again. Like Tyrone, AK will always pull me out of the woodwork to listen to him.
Hugo, the first trout I ever caught were in the Snowy Range outside of Laramie; the only name we could find was Brush Creek. That was in 1969; great times.

Very nice indeed - AK has been a long-time member here and we’re honored to have him. We surely are blessed with folks who make this site what it is. By the way, Hugo is always looking for suggestions for people to interview, have someone you’d like him to include?
I had a lot of fun interviewing AK. I even was even a little star struck, lol. I’m very pleased that you guys are enjoying these so much. Like LF said, please keep the suggestions coming.
TT.
I also enjoyed the podcast, but wish the recording quality was a bit better. The person being interviewed sounds like he is talking through and old telephone.
Not being critical, just an observation.
I think it has something to do with the compression of the file to make it small enough to put up on the site. Ron Tidd would know more about it than I do. It certainly doesn’t sound anything like that when I play the original recording on my computer.
Maybe he (Ron) can shed some light on it.
TT.
TT,
Great interview, thanks for putting it together. ALways enjoy hearing/seeing A.K. talk about tying and fishing. Go Blue Ponies!
Regards,
Scott
Scott,
Your last little sentence made me giggle, are you from around here? Not many folks would know about the Blue Ponies (the highschool team).
Hugo.
Hugo,
Both of my in-laws went to Havre High; they live in Whitefish now.
