Pocket wisdom and stream sense

Put your cell phone and camera in waterproof ziplock bags before you stick them in your vest pocket.

Zip your vest pockets back up after you open them.

Everybody catches their flies in tree branches, even Lefty. Don’t feel like an idiot when you do.

Don’t crowd someone else who’s already on the water.

Before you step out into the middle of the current, fish the water you’re going to wade through. The fish might be tight up against the near bank rather than the far one.

I have a friend who would tell you ziplock bags don’t always work. Get a waterproof container or a waterproof electronics, they are available in phones and cameras now.

When you leave your vehicle don’t block the road, someone may want to go further than you did.

Don’t use 4-low to get in.

Uncle Jesse, that’s why I double-bag my cell phone. My camera, uh, the current “my camera”, is water-resistant to a depth of 10’.

Loved the 4-low comment above. My Dad had a great line for me when I was learning to drive 4wd…“If you’re dumb enough to get in using 4-Low, then be smart enough to have a tow strap and a shovel with you to get out”.

I was told 4 wheel drive was to get you out of what you were dumb enough to get in in 2 wheel drive. I grew up in Mississippi and Louisiana and have spent consider time in Tennessee, Alabama & Texas, Jesse knows mud.

I was told 4 wheel drive will get you stuck in places you can’t even get to in 2 wheel drive.

TB Wannabe, I wish there was LIKE button on this board!

The simplest cost saver of all- look behind you BEFORE you cast.

That’s why I always catch the stuff behind me…
