I fish alot of Lakes and Ponds…Do some trouting in my spare time…I like the warm water spieces a bit to much to devote a whole lot of time to the limestoners here…well They also hold a great Smallie population that keeps me going back…Hope to see more of you around the boards…always kewl to have the younger guys coming into the sport! NOT THAT I AM OLD…LOL
Good point, if I hook a 20 LB carp, before I can even think about how to play it it will be burnin away at my disc drag. It is VERY shy but sometimes I see it take something off the surface, even in the middle of the winter. So I will try some dry flies. When I arrive at the pond usually this fish is in a small drainange pipe at the edge of the pond. Yeas i said “in” It hangs out there for some reason. Its awul hard to get it on the fly then!
