Rick,
K&K has 'em, too!

Hey Rick,

So those p.s. strips have the wheels in your head turning!

I picked mine up at orvis, but shop arround, they can vary in price by 3 or 4 dollars.

Have fun tying with them.

chris

Rick,
I buy mine at Bass Pro.

Rick -

Get mine at my local fly shop - a Wapsi product. Wapsi does the zonked full pine squirrel skin in a pretty good variety of colors. Any place that carries Wapsi should have or be able to get one for you. The full skin runs about $17, last time I bought one.

Fly Tying Furs one of the sponsors had Red Pine Squirrel Skins for $3.50.

Rick what color are you looking for? I have a bunch from Orvis that have never been used. These are the ones that are pre slit.

Rick

I have bought squirrel skins from Fly Tying Furs, and they are a great bargain. However, be aware that the skins are dried, not tanned. Zonker strips are tanned.

I don’t think the squirrel hides from Fly Tying Furs are tanned like the rabbit.

The one I am selling is the full hide. I get mine from the march maddness sale Orvis puts on in GA. Alot of the Orvis stores from the southeast get together and have this huge warehouse sale to get rid of over stocks, items that just are not moving, seconds and things that may be missing parts. For instance two or three years ago I got an Orvis T3 that at the time retailed for 600.00 bucks and I only paid 200.00 for it because someone at the shop lost the rod tube to it. I’ve paid as little as 5 bucks for the Generation series of fly lines that retail for 60. I cant tell you how much I paid for the tying stuff because then I feel guilty charging someone 12 for a 20 dollar item. But thats a perk to living in ATL. And I feel 12 is worth it since that includes shipping and no tax.

rick, i havnt gotten a chance to send you some strips yet as im still waiting for my parents to get more envelopes, but i just realized, my squirrels are all grey squirrels, not pine squirrels. does that matter to you?

No, I would like to try those also.
