I am sure this has be asked before , but how do you set up for taking pictures of your flies

I scrolled through those and had even opened up and one on Artificial lighting but did not get all the way to the bottom where he showed his lighting set up.
As far as a digital camerera is concerned I tie in the dark
I use a Sony Mavica MVC-FD5 it is a 10X Telephoto and also can take Macrophoto, as close as 0.25 inches distance of the camera lens. Mine is an older model, bought it from JC. But it took most of the pictures of the 2000 FAOL Fish-In, that are posted on this site, as well as all the pictures I used in my “Tying Tip” articles, the 2001 Texas Regional Fish-In, and the Branson Trout Hatcher article in the Beginners Section.
It is a very versatile camera, and easy to use and take pictures. The battery recharges quickly, and has a long life for photo shooting. It automaticly shuts off, if accidently left on.

Thank you gents. That provides me with several different options
I use a dig camera on a tripod set to macro with self-timer. I put a sheet of poster paper behind the fly and I light from above with an OTT lite, and from left and right with incandescent bulbs in regular silver shop clamp-on lights.
I second Diane on the silver shop lights. Can’t beat the price or versatility. I have to photograph lots of small items for work, and I use at least 3 lights (2 sides, one middle). I have to set it all up on the kitchen table and break it down afterwards, too. I usually either mix incandescents and compact fluorescents, or use just one kind and set the color balance on my digital camera for it.
