Pheasant Tail Soft Hackle

Isolation Tying Continued… my size 16 version tied today.

Size 16
Pheasant tail (3 strands), Tail & body
X-SM Gold Wire, Rib
Peacock Herl, Thorax
Mallard Covert Feather, Hackle (I use Partridge hackle on larger hooks but the Mallard Covert is easier on 16 and smaller - the fish don’t seem to mind either way.)

Playing with sharing on FAOL, I found I can enlarge photos on my old PC, but my iPad does not seem to allow me that option.

All the best,

Cliff

Nice. I used to fish those all of the time, but I’ve gotten away from them for no reason. Thanks for the reminder. I’m going to fish them on my next trip. I just simply forgot about them. So many patterns, ha.

Cliff,

Very nice tie; PT softhackles are great searching patterns on tailwaters.

Regards,
Scott

Nice, all the nymphs I tie these days are soft hackles. The PT is my favorite. Only difference is I use starling for the soft hackle.
