Just when you thought you have heard it all…
Amazing…simply amazing
hehe, putting him on a vegetarian diet would only make him crave meat more.
What a bunch of idiots!; QUOTE; “It is up to you to prevent McCuin from contributing to any more suffering and death by placing him on a healthy, humane vegetarian diet,” the letter by PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich reads. "

How many years does it take to grow somebody that #&$%#& stupid?
Hey! I have an idea…Let’s make things safer at the prison by moving this cannibal to the PETA Headquarters. There are PLENTY of vegetables there!!!
Mike
I think that the institution holding him would agree with you, as I do! Very well thought out, Mikey. You are a genius…MENSA material.
Joe
You people leave that poor fellow alone! He has feelings! His neurons are firing, just like yours! Just because they aren’t connected to anything doesn’t mean he is unfeeling! I propose we start a campaign to notify all the lions in Africa that they must desist making breakfast of all those zebras and wildebeesties and such! Let them eat grass, I say. Then we’ll expand to the rest of the meat-eaters of the world, and soon, and soon, and soon, uh, hmmmm…What happens next Jerome?
Please support PETA any way you can afford. (people eating tasty animals). I’m accepting contributions in any form you want to send. You know how to get in touch with me…T-bones, Porterhouse, New York’s, oh my.
By sending one letter and one press release PETA obtains thousand and thousands of dollars in free advertising. Even on a fly fishing board.![]()

Personally I think that positions like these are what the public should hear, see and read. Any money raised through statements like that and exposure is far outweighed by the massive public ridicule of their silliness.
Deezel
Vegetarian Diet!!! Those EVIL PETA HEATHENS!!!
Where is the love for the hapless soybean which has no chance to flee and can only wait in abject terror as the combine bears down on it. How horrible! Those wretched PETA people have no heart at all.
Ed, who has been known to be sarcastic
I want to know where they stand in regards to the Venus Fly Trap? Is this not an evil & wicked plant, consuming innocent insects in a fashion that can only be described as a tortuous demise? Why is there no outcry to protect the innocent insects? Does not the flyfisher choose to imitate the insect rather than to impale it upon his hook?
The human race evolved as Omnivores, not Vegetarians, thank God. Where these Petaphiles live must be in their own little fantasy world. The problem is they think their opinions/fantasies should be rules for us all to live by.
I’ve met a lot of PETA members, over the years and always have a lot of fun,(when very first meeting them), “Uhhh, WHERE’D ya’ get the pretty LEATHER PURSE/BELT/JACKET?”.
They’ll usually, ‘stutter and stammer’ a while, until I further ask them… “NICE SHOES/BOOTS? They can sure make PLASTIC, look just like LEATHER, now can’t they?”
This will, 90% of the time, END any and all discussions. If one starts in on me, about “It’s GREAT, being a Vegetarian”! I always excitedly reply… “You, BET, it is!! I breed dogs, (sir/ma’am) and if it WEREN’T for you “Vegetarians” and your doctoring skills, I’d be in REAL trouble!”
But, even with that, unfortunately, we cannot laugh at, and discredit, PETA to the point of ignoring them. “Ignoring them” as; “just a bunch of harmless fanatics”, is how they managed to “sneak in” and get so much damage to the California hunting scene, via new hunting regs.
Peta gets a LOT of funding. They get spokespeople, that people DO listen to,(even if they don’t know, what they’re listening to). They can be very dangerous to our sport.
Below, is an article I received from one of my fellow dog breeders. I think it fits this thread, but in a very sad way…

In 2006, PETA apparently took in 3,061 companion animals, of which it killed 2,981. This information comes from the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS).
The Center for Consumer Freedom, an advocacy group representing the interests of manufacturers and retailers, issued a press release today that made light of this figure.
The press release goes on to report that the average euthanasia rate for humane societies in the state was just 34.7 percent in 2006, compared to PETA’s kill rate of 97.4 percent.
Apparently, the Commonwealth ordered PETA to submit a report of its operations for all of 2006, and PETA finally complied 9 months after the deadline.
You can read the rest of the alarming details here…

Those of you who have followed this blog for a long time know that I’ve been a big critic of PETA, charging them to be hypocrites in the most vile kind of way.
They campaign for our donations on the grounds that they’re going to take care of these animals, love them, and protect them, and yet it appears they use that money to buy syringes, plastic bags, and pentobarbital.
They’re opportunists. When an animal tragedy occurs, such as the Michael Vick story, they capitalize on the situation with their, “I told you so” advertisements, and leverage donations from our emotions.
What’s worse, PETA, or Michael Vick?
No one who calls themselves an animal lover can stick a needle into a perfectly healthy and adoptable dog, and tell it that they’re doing this for love.
If you’re going to argue that a “kinder, gentler death” is better than a cruel one, then you’re just as clueless as Michael Vick. (end Quote)

I can’t stop laughing!
Okay, let me get this straight. By the logic of PETA itself, each time I catch a fish, I should issue a stern lecture about the horrors of eating meat then place a carrot stick in it’s mouth before releasing it in hopes that it will mend its ways and stop the senseless slaughter of innocent bugs. Then, because this sort of thing will of course catch on as the fish realizes the error of it’s way and will work to spread the message to its finny fellow stream inhabitants, I should immediately go home and begin developing a series of salad flies, perhaps a tungsten bead head tofu fly?
BlueGill222;
VERY NICE,to see that some people learn much faster than others!! You’re absolutely right, in your thinking.
Since there is already an actual fly, called “The Carrot Streamer”, I think if I were you… I’d work diligently on your “BHTF”. (Bead Head Tofu Fly). I’m looking forward to it, under the Fly Tying thread, and SOON!
Please don’t stop there, however. Many of us, (like you, before you found your way), are depending on you, now, to also give us the same fly in a “Subimgo Tofu” pattern, and OF COURSE A DRY and if time… a nicely tied “Tofu Clouser”, would be MUCHLY appreciated as well!
If you have any trouble with something like “Upright and divided lettuce wings”, say, on your dries, I hear Betty is an excellent tier, as well as an epicurean whiz, in the kitchen!

And let’s not forget my good friend; Funny Mr. Potato Head who has always said: “not eating meat is just plain un-American”!

Bamboozle,
I wouldn’t harm any of those cute little peas!, since I Hate them!
Anyway, here is a wacked out of his mind Mr. Potato Head I found;http://www.williambay.com/stevemcqueen/pics/potatohead.jpg
