PETA After the Prez for Swatting a Fly?

Reading this is another bit of proof these PETA nuts are crazy

PeTA makes it soooo easy to make fun of them.

Note that the SITA pest control site (http://sitapest.com/base/pest/flies.htm) and many others indicate that flies are not only a nuisance pest but of greater concern is their potential as a carrier of disease organisms, having been found to harbour over 100 different pathogenic organisms.

This just reminds me a lot of a paragraph in a previous article (http://flyanglersonline.com/features/bobboese/042009.php) that hypothesized about PeTA’s potential demands to protect micro organisms – which supposition generated a number of unpleasant e-mails suggesting the article was based on gross stupidity or was preposterous. To those e-mailiers…um…guess maybe it wasn’t.

“Let’s face it, PETA may be very wrong, but it is not necessarily stupid. That is why they like guilt. Guilt is omnivorous, feeding on a vast array of emotions. PETA wants guilt to consume fishermen so that fishing is no longer fun, but merely something that brings feelings of discomfort. BUT?here’s how things can get confusing. When does a living creature not count. Consider Whirling Disease, a parasitic infection caused by the microscopic parasite, Myxobolus cerebralis. The disease is named for the haracteristic swimming behavior that results as the parasite multiplies in the head and spinal cartilage of the infected fish (primarily wild fingerling rainbow trout) and these fish subsequently die. In the absence of rainbow trout, fishing on many wild rivers will cease to happen. Fishing has an intrinsic value to man so man anthropomorphically strives to eliminate the parasite and seeks to eliminate it completely. But?.is it acceptable for man to choose to extinct the parasite (which PETA presumably considers to have its own intrinsic value) and save the fish when the same man may ultimately catch, kill and eat the fish? And?aren’t humans the guardians, stewards and protectors of ALL other species? If not all, is human protection of intrinsic, aesthetic or amorphous values of fish species directly related to the enjoyment of such things by humans, hence latently anthropomorphic, therefore evil? Confusing, huh?”

Brought to you by the people who want to rename fish as “sea kittens”. 9_9

PETA is crazy like a fox, every time they do somthing like this, everyone starts talking (even here) about them and the checks come pouring in. Its all about money, they can’t loose.

Someone needs to start “People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants”. Plants have feelings too. When you eat plants your not only destroying that plant but the millions of seedlings that plant may have produced. Now what will Peta folks eat?

I gave our dog a second dose of medication today, to rid him of hookworms. Oh, those poor hookworms and what I’ve done to them. I should probably be ashamed! But as I told the vet, I love that dog, and want him to be around for a long time… but I never thought of the poor parasites, alas!

It’s a double edged sword. Sure, the publicity for something this stupid probably loosens up the purse-strings of some irrational nuts, but it also makes clear to the rational world that may have sent donations that these folks are nuts.

I am glad to say I belong to MATE, “more animals to eat”.
Ghost

Now I’ve heard everything…Oye Geval!

That’s it!
From now on I’m going to dip every fly I tye in alcohol so nobody can accuse me of having filthy flies…
Oh wait…
That might harm the germs!

PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals

The best column (IMHO) in the Atlanta Journal & Constitution is called “The Vent” basically unsigned editorial comments; one of the best today suggested we catch all the houseflies, mosquitoes, ants, and other irritating insects and send them to PETA for safe keeping.

Glad to see them go after a liberal. Makes me think their agenda(however maligned) doesn’t reflect politics.

Oh… don’t be fooled (again) by the theatrics. It could all be staged (again).
