Man have prices DROPPED!

I read the review of this camera on this site a while back and wanted one. Watching several other ff bbs, I saw it received favorable reviews there as well. I didn’t need one as my wife has an HP that does a nice job, but unfortunately, it took a swim a while back. I bent down to unhook a 'bow and ‘kersplash’. Hadn’t rezipped my vest pocket. The need for a water resistant/proof camera was never more clear…

So I just priced them for the first time in several months. Prices have really, really dropped. I paid $139. 3.2megapixels must be so “old school” these days;-)

Just spreading the word in case any other clumsy flyfisher using his wifes camera would like to improve their marital position…

Where are you seeing them for that price? A quick search is still showing prices around $260-350USD for this camera.

It might be because the new 5.0 megapixel Optio WP is due to release in 2 weeks.

There was a tremendous amount of variation in the pricing I found on the net.

Frankly, it almost seems too good to be true, but I pulled the trigger, we’ll see what happens.

I’m waiting for the Optio WP that is supposed to be avalible at the end of the month. Look for a review soon.

Vendor may be pretty flaky. If you look at the three lowest prices on that site you mentioned, they appear to be the same shop, just thinly disguised as different sites. A little more research indicates that Digital Liquidators, the lowest price, has a bit of a reputation:

Uhoh…thanks for pointing that out. I wondered how I could/would check such a thing… I’m calling my credit card company tonight to be on the safe side…get the despute paperwork in my hands so it’s ready to go if all is not as I had hoped…

Hope it works out. I’ve had the 33 WR for about a year, and been quite happy. It’s nice to have a camera you can take out fishing or canoeing and not be worried about. It’s become my main digital camera.

Okay, I cancelled the order with the company. My CC company tells me that no charges have appeared as of yet. Man that was close, I get too excited for a “deal”.

Reading the history on those e-tailers was downright scary. Darn it I was really looking forward to this thing.

I guess this camera is on the edge of obscelecence. Not literally, but in a Pentax product line sense. IE, it’s not on the current Pentax site.

Off to eBay, Amazon, etc for some further investigation.
