Pensacola Fly Fishing & Fly Shops?

A friend of mine in the Navy is going to be stationed in Pensacola, Fl & I was wondering if anyone knows of a good fly shop & what the fishing might be like around there?

Thanks,
Tony

I lived in Pensacola for a few years just two miles away from PNAB. The fishing is preaty good in the bay and around the fort pickens area wich is located across the the bay from the base. We did well with red fish, blues, and bonito. If you get a chance find out when the bonito are schooling in perdido bay, you can do well using anchovie patterns, clouser minnows or any other minnow immitations when they are schooling. Sorry, off hand I can’t think of any flyshops down there, it’s been a while since I’ve been down. Try these links, you should be able to find one that can help you out.

Greg Saunders, a flyfisherman and owner of FlyLipps, lives in Pensacola, and could direct you to the best fishing areas and shops in the P-cola area. He’s a good guy who is most helpful.
