’ ’ I haven’t fished for steelheads for two years till Sunday 10/26-- I had a heart attack and wasn’t able to go for a number of different reason’s hooked ten and only landed two, I kinda forgot how hard their runs were and just how hard they fight(awesome) most fish were from 5 to 8# range it was a great day.
We fished three streams 20mile–16mile and Elk Creek, fish in all three. The fish were basically every were. Water was off color so any bugger seemed to work, fish were fresh so they were dumb, that’s why I was able to hook so many.
I envy you, Jad. I am from Grove City, Pa. and there just aren’t many steel head down here in the Harrisburg area. Raystown is the closest and it’s just not as fun to fish as the Lake Erie fisheries.
JaD,
I figured you’d say the Elk when I saw you live in Butler. I haven’t yet fished the Elk, but a lot of our Ohio folks swear by it…especially early…like now. Glad you’re able to get back into them.
Mike
Thanks for the kind posts,
Went again today and caught many fish, this time water was clear and low. We went to 12 mile, stream was loaded with fresh fish.
