Penns Grannom

The Penns Grannom is a favorite of mine on most of Pennsylvania’s waters, and in this color variation it is tied specifically for Huntington Creek in Central PA. This pattern was featured in my book “One Small Trout” and has been a very productive pattern for me over the course of many years.

Nice looking tie

Ralph,
Do you usually use that length wing on all caddis, or just this one?

Byron,

On this one specifically, but on a number of others as well. Quite alot of caddis flies have much longer wings in proportion to their abdomen length, when compared to how long popular patterns tend to be. Most tend to have wings when in tent form 1/3 longer than their abdomens.

Exactly as Ralph says. Cath one and take a look at it closely. I tied my wrong for years.

Exactly as Ralph indicated. Catch one and examine it closely. I tied my wrong for quite a few years.
