 Wow!! I just found this heading on the BB and was impressed. How long has the forum been around? I have been posting under the Warm Water Forum, but have been busy as of late with my military duty. Anyway I am glad to have finally found this part of the site. This is great for all of us who use paddle craft to Flyfish. Hope there is room for me and my inflatable ( The Alpha Lone Star). Well talk to yall later.

The enemy was many and they were but few,
But they stormed the gates of hell with glory in their eyes,
For tonight they sleep in Valhalla.

Here is a way I have been able to add a rodholder. Maybe it can help others.
Hey Sarge,
Yep, the paddle forum was included in the recent BB upgrade. In no
small part due to your and others requests for same. The Mgmt
does listen. Glad to have ya back Sarge. Warm regards, Jim
Hey Sarge,
Is that a milk crate or a TEXAS SIZED stripping basket LOL

Hey Sarge,
Does that Scotty Fly Rod holder have a little door to lock the rod into the holder? I’ve never seen one in “person” only in ads and magazines and never noticed that. I would consider one if it is true.
Thanks -
Budd :?:
Budd,
They have a strap which lock the rod n reel in place. It is pretty secure too. Kept my Xi2 and Super 6 safe when I managed to turn my yaks upside down in the tidal races near the white cliffs off Dover.
I use mine trolling and it has held perfectly against some good sized stripers.

Hey Budd,
The Scotty Rod Holder is great!! I got mine from a store that starts with a “C” and ends with “abelas”.(Just kidding since they are not a sponser LOL). They have this repackaging technique that takes older models and sells them as a store brand cheaper. Saved a little cash on that since it only cost $15 as oposed to the $35 for the name brand. Any way the holder has a rubber strap that fits snuggly accross the opening and holds the rod tight. I was paddling under some trees one time and couldn’t move forward, because the tree branch had grabbed hold of the lower part of my rod. The holder had held it in place that securely. I also employ a rod leash to keep my rod in the boat( burn me once…). Hey Jed, you know everything is bigger here in Texas(LOL). Hey Jim, Great work as usual from FAOL. This is awsome!!! I will try to keep posting any inovations or discoveries that come my way. Well everyone keep up the good work.
Sarge.
