The crappie had moved elsewhere today but I caught another twenty some keepers( 'gills and crappies both) as well as many smaller fish and some bass on the same little black wooly bugger I had on yesterday. When I quit fishing it was down to one silli leg of the original four and no longer had any hackle. I think that’s the best I have ever done on a single fly. The hook has been stripped and the same fly tied on it again. I hope that keeps the mojo.
Awesome!!!
That’s some serious MOJO to hang on to.
There are certain patterns that I tie that have proven to be extremely durable. When I use a dubbing brush made with fine copper wire for the bodies and rabbit fur for the tails, it is not uncommon for me to catch well over 100 fish on a single fly and it’s still fine to fish with. I avoid using Marabou for the tails because it is so fragile. I much prefer long rabbit fur or even Arctic Fox on larger patterns. It is funny though how some flies have that special Mojo and seem to be much more attractive to fish.
