I’m selling my beloved Ultrafine 7’9" 2wt 2 piece 1.5 ounces date code 1097. Yes, I said I’d never sell this rod. It’s in very good, fished condition and comes with it’s green Cordura rod tube and partitioned Orvis rod sock.
I don’t have any good pictures of this rod right now but I’ll work on that in the next day or two.
I’ll sell it for $230 with $20 shipping in the states or contact me for shipping costs out of the US.
Please contact me via email: czarbarclay @ prodigy . net
Here’s a link to some photos of the rod:

just a quick plug for this rod. was able to snatch one off the used rod rack at my local fly shop this summer and it quickly became my go-to for bluegill. even landed a 20" channel cat (that was a blast). have thrown downsized buggers, small nymphs and soft hackles at one of missouri’s trout parks and landed several trout. this is just a fantastic tool. somebody should grab this up. and chris’ seems to be in a lot better shape than mine.
Thanks for the thumb’s up! Yes, it’s a great rod for all the reasons dpenrod says - I’ve enjoyed it in the same contexts.
Does that date code mean it was made in 1997? Just curious as I have a custom made Orvis rod that looks just like it.
Dave
Hi Dave,
Yes, 1097 means that it was made Ocober of 1997. Most of the older Orvis rods have a date code like this.
