i picked up a set for 6-8 wt lines and they seem simple enough. i didn’t get to use them as intended, but i checked em out the nite before. they seem thin right below the loops. anyone hooked a decent fish with one of these connected?
I have to second Buddy. I’ve used a set for years - mostly in smallie rivers. Had no problems with them. Still haven’t bought a sink tip - too cheap, I guess!! Besides they work just fine.
Perfectloop, I have the Orvis sink tips for
6-8 wt lines. Neaver had a problem with them. I have not caught a large fish on them but have caught 16-18" trout with them.
Rather then the Orvis mini lead heads(i think that’s what they call them) I would save a few bucks and get a Airflo tungston sinking leader. They cast a 100 times better and you can get them in sink rates up to 13ips.
I use them alot for fishing walleyes, etc., in local rivers. My only concern is that they reach the bottom where I’m “scratching” gravel. I know I do with a sinking tip but wonder sometimes if I am with the lead leaders. Very convenient, and have used the same ones for a few years now. I can’t recall how long I’ve had them. JGW
