Good for you!

Its always a great and welcome surprise when you find sales like that.

Steve,

Nice discount! Where is the PA store moving to?

To your neck of the weeds, SJ Santana Row store
consolidation, I think I will go again tomorrow
to see what might be left.

The clothes really are a good value…

My wife likes the line of colthing by Orvis. When we lived in San Mateo, she shopped for her clothing at the The River Company (now defuncted) which was an Orvis affiliate. Can’t seem to get her to try fly fishing though, but she does love the Orvis outfits. May be some day.

Thats a start!:stuck_out_tongue:

I was in there last week. Headed to Scott’s Seafood for dinner and spotted the Orvis sign. I picked up a 3wt line and a pair of Ono’s Bifocal sunglasses at 40% off.

Hey Wayne glad you also were able to get in on on the good value
at Orvis in Palo Alto.

Their gear including their clothes are fine indeed but I always
felt they were over valued.

I went back today and got another bookand two
pair of dress pants, I look at it as a good value rather then a super
deal.

The wife encouraged me to take another look, I would be crazy
to say no. She is very good to us…

My advice is to look at this as an investment opportunity. The same thing happened at an Orvis store near me. I purchased a rod at 60% off and sold it on eBay for about 85% of its value. I wish I had bought more. Could have made a handsome profit if I was thinking straight.

Advice though is to stick to the more expensive models as they are easier to sell and the margin will be greater. Simple mathmatics.
