Thanks Lotech, killer deal! I have several, but I feel the need to point out that the foot on the new reels is larger that the English ones. For the most part, not a problem, but I have a custom built rod with the ring style reel seat and the foot is too big. I had to do some major sanding. Just a heads up, but it is still one of my favorite reels.

I was in an Orvis store in Carmel IN a few weeks ago and picked up a III for $111.00 and then got an additional 20% off! Reel balances well with my Scott G 885/3.

I bought one too.

The reel is being discontinued; so get the spare
spools while you can. The new arbors will have
a completely sealed drag.

Ain’t that the truth!

I have yet to find a new sliding band seat that will fit over ANY Hardy or larger reel foot. I don’t get it; my old bamboo rods with sliding bands accommodated any reel foot.
