Only you guys and gals

Just got back from surgery for trigger finger and the doc says I will be casting by next week. I haven’t been able to fish since September. Thank goodness this happened during the winter - if it had been summer I think my brain would have exploded. Only folks on this board truly understand what I mean. What is it about the sound of a drag singing that brings serenity to my entire world? Now if the Erie Tribs will just calm down a little…

One good thing is that I have been a fly tying fool the last few weeks. Have you seen Senyo’s Wiggle Stone, Orvis has it. I’ve had fun tying articulated nymphs. My stone’s aren’t great, but I’m tying a jointed version of Rummel’s Little Bugger and it looks great. Can['t wait to try it on some Steelies. I’m not electronically savvy or I’d add a photo. If anyone has fished the Wiggle Stone I’d love to hear what you think.

Just talked to a friend who fished Paine & Mill last Friday while the Grand was at 9,000 cfs, and they both had double digit days. The tribs are loaded with chrome and are VERY fishable if you can handle the low temps and wind. Hurry up and heal!

The wiggle stone is one of my go-to flies in the spring. I fish it as part of a tandem rig below a sucker spawn. I was turned on to them about three years ago with great results. All of Greg Senyo’s patterns work well on steelhead in the Ohio tribs.
