One Great Weekend

My son and I went with our local fly fishing club to north central PA. Great trout streams, and although I didn’t do too well, my son caught his first trout on a PTN he had tied himself. I can’t remember seeing him happier…

Bill,
Looks like you had a great time! North Central Pa has some really terrific fishing opportunities. I used to manage a truck stop in Kylertown. Planning a trip back up to that area this fall to fish, leaf peep and see the elk at Benezette.

Looks like the boy got himself a really nice fish. Well done, Laddy, well done.

It was a hoot! And the browns up in those cold streams are just beautiful. The water is well aerated and full of all sorts of larva, and the fish appear healthy. The funny thing is that the browns in the clear water look almost orange from above. There were other fish in with them that just looked gray- I’m assuming they would be rainbows, but I don’t recall seeing any caught. But, all in all, a great outing, until we got home and logged in here for sad news. Perhaps Castwell gave a little guiding hand to yet another novice…

I have no doubt he was right there with you and your son. He would have congratulated you two on your success.
