OMG, is this stuff true?

Maybe we need to pay these guys more, ya, right!

Politicians aren’t exactly the sharpest pencil in the drawer!
"HOW am I supposed to know WHAT PLANE to take??? There’s NO NUMBERS!

This coming from people who spend Millions of dollars campaigning to get a job that pays less then $200,000.???

Those are hysterical . Don’t you just love the use of the word, “Whatever”? More often than not it’s a sign that the person saying it knows they’ve screwed up but just want you to ignor it.

By the way, and I might be among the minority on this, I think #7 would be a legitimate concern for an overweight person not familiar with airport nomenclature and acronyms.

Deezel

If y’all think those folks are a bit deficient in the gray matter department, just think of how many people VOTED for them. Now there’s ya a scary thought. Forget the government, there’s a good chunk of this country that’s caught up in the old American Standard whirlpool.

Joe

P.S. I suddenly have a renewed confidence in my abilities.

With the way they vote and the way they spend money it is a wonder tha tthey can even ask some of the questions at times.

Rick

Another thing that is kind a scarey is that these people are HIGHLY EDUCATED.

Quote; “We don’t all agree on everything. I don’t agree with myself on everything!.” Rudy Giuliani.

Quote: “I purchased a gun when I was a young man. I’ve been a hunter pretty much all my life.”
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who later admitted he’s been hunting TWICE, once when he was 15, and once in 06.
Does this sound familiar?
Betty, what would Dorothy do?? click heels and wish!
Doug

uhmm…not trying to be an ass, but I’m glad I’m up here sometimes

HB…you mean you think it’s only limited to USA

HumberBrad,
Can we bring our sleeping bags???
Thanks!
Doug

I think they need to have their “speech writers” do ALL their communicating for 'em! The only sentences they speak that make ANY sense aren’t their own.
Mike

“The REAL reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse: You cannot post “Thou shalt not steal”, Thou shalt not commit adultery” and Thou shalt not lie", in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creates a hostile work enviromnent."
George Carlin

Ducksterman,
I just wanted to give you a up-date. I found 2 very good Gov. stories and wouldn’t you know it I could not copy their Links! It’s never happened before. I found a very good argument for having a better attitude towards Politicians…we benefit in the long run from not having a ‘total’ negative attitude. It isn’t easy but nothing worthwhile is.
Doug

Being a resident of Iowa, and with the big State Fair going on, I’ve 'bout had it with politics, posturing and photo ops. At least 5 phone calls each night from some staffer or volunteer wanting my support… Funny how the “do not call” list precludes politicians during elections… (Won’t go down the us vs them on health care, retirement, etc.) I’ve always enjoyed politics and debate when it’s productive. Hard to think most of it is anymore. It’s no wonder I feel disconnected and no wonder to me why people don’t vote as we should. If someone gets serious about election reform I’ll be a happy guy. We’re 15 months from this Prez election and it’s going to be a long road! At the Straw Poll last weekend in Ames I did talk to a volunteer (I hope) that was 100% convinced the election was this November. With any luck he’s the one that’s right…

It’s our system and our responsibility to see that it works. The more we are disengaged the more we fall prey to someone else’s will. Could go on for days but am beaten down… Not really!
Grassman

Hey Grassman - after I moved across the river from Iowa in to South Dakota, I was NEVER so relieved NOT to have to deal with all those carpet bombing campaigns.

AND JUST FOR THE RECORD…I used to live in Sioux City, Iowa and the airport code there is SUX.

Seriously. Read into it how you want.

That alone makes you want to move.

Just remember…WE PUT THEM THERE!!!

When they call the roll in Congress, half of the delegates don’t know whether to say “Here”, or “Guilty”!

Semper Fi!

Jimmadsen, glad you survived Sioux City! Didn’t you have “Gopher” from Love Boat as your Congressman for a time?? He was almost the governor! It’s nice to enjoy rest of the country and be able to come home to Iowa…most days. Gigmaster, You are exactly right. Problem is the way it’s set up now once a person is elected it’s nearly impossible to get them out! Apathy is the enemy and we’ve disgusted ourselves into deep apathy! those with power like us apathetic b/c it allows them to take us off center very easily. We may be dysfunctional but we started out as having the very best form of government and it’s worth fighting for. Thank you for helping keep it alive.

Number of calls is down this week. Hopefully the herd is starting to thin… Have great weekend!
Grassman

Hey Grass - I actually grew up in Fort Dodge and spent several summers as a camp counselor at a Y Camp in Boone - so I’m very familiar with your neck of the woods…and miss them dearly!

New Preamble to the U.S. Constitution

“We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights.”

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone – not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes (This one is my pet peeve…get an education and go to work…don’t expect everyone else to take care of you!)

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we’re just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don’t be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don’t be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won’t have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don’t care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!

(Lastly…)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country’s history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!
