Ohio Tribs?

Not looking for any spots, but just wanting to know if any Steel have been spotted in the Connie or Ash yet? I’m heading up to fish this week with my bro-in-law and figured the easternmost streams would be best. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Any opinions on casting streamers this time of year? I caught my first non-nymph fish last year fooling around with a Gummy Minnow. Wow - what a strike!

I’m finally over case of Bronchitis and have some wind back. I am so stoked to fish that my teeth hurt. I’ll report in when I get back.

Fished Conneaut yesterday, saw some rolling and moving up but the water was still a little murky at 18" visibility. Usually for me, this means they are on the move and most don’t hold long enough to get a take. I could be wrong but I don’t do well when they have perfect conditions to spread out and up the rivers.

I am in Cleveland and fish the Rocky River and we have some Steelies in our system. Best results in the northern most parts of the river and the marina.

Yes this is a great time of year to use streamers / shiner patterns on fresh run steelies because they are still in predatory mode.

I recall the first time I had a hit on a clouser minnow it was like playing tug of war with a large dog and just as violent.

Black and olive wooly buggers are my favorite then clouser minnows.

Oh, and if we have steelhead so should they.
