Ohio Fish-In ?

OK! All you Island Nation inhabitants, whats your feelings on an Ohio Fish IN ???

Personally, I think we need to get together and have one! Perhaps in the fall?

SO WHAT SAY YE ?

I would certainly be interested, as long as it doesn’t conflict with prior committments, I’ll be there.

will Wolverines be welcome?
Can I be a Buckeye by proxy since part of my paycheck goes to support a Ohio University

Jack, did you see what I saw?

Ed

Everyone is welcome!!

YEAH! Especially Michiganders smart enough to let their kids LEAVE!!!:wink:

Mikey

Gents,
As a slight HI-jack, are there still available fried bologna sammiches in most FINE restaurants overbythere in Ohio? If there are, I may consider attendinfg the OHFI

Mark
PS: As I recall a 1/4 inch slice of fried bologna, lettuce, tomato and mayo ( Hellman’s of course) on toast. GOORMay !

Now the big question!! Where and when? Ooops that 2 questions! What are the accomodations available? Ooops that’s 3!! Since most of us have made our vacation plans for this year you may want to wait. You’ve planted the seed so let it sprout! I did this with the 2006 Michigan Fish-In and we had 66 members from as far away as Salt Lake City attend!!

At the very least we should get together for breakfast again.

G&R in Waldo, Ohio. Might not be where the fish-in is located but worth the effort to get to Waldo.

Is there trout fishing in OHIO? Do you allow Nittany Lion Fans to socialize in your state?

THAT ALWAYS WORKS!!
Let me talk to Tuber, and we can work on the whole thing.

O-“HI”-O the GREAT ISLAND NATION ! is still a free place and anyone can visit. we do have a treaty with PA so come on over.

shhhhhh! don’t tell but we have salt water blue gills!! and those lazy trout.

Any fan of Joe Pa is okay in my book.

Jack, should we tell Marco about Tex’s BBQ in Nashville? The place that includes the option of bar-be-qued bologna (and beef brisket, chicken, and pork) as a part of their lunch buffet?
No?
OK. Mum’s the word.

Ed

A place called Tex’s selling BBQ in Tennessee sound like sacrilege especially this the high week of BBQ in the mecca of Memphis where they are in the midst of the International BBQ competition at this moment. Makes my mouth water to think about it.

As for Ohio, great place to visit, but stay away from the stuff they call chili up there. A strange concoction service on noodles and other things. Now they need a Texan up there to help with that.

Uncle J,
Attending the Memphis in May BBQ competition is (and has been) on my bucket list. I tend to find a BBQ joint or 2 where ever we go.
BTW, did you get my PM?
Mike

Since I have successfully gotten this thread hijacked with BBQ, let me take it a bit further down that path. I went to school in a small town in NW TN. I asked a local how to tell the good BBQ places from the others. I was told that the good ones burn down at least once every 3-4 years. I laughed. I was politely and kindly corrected. In time I came to learn that I had been given a pearl of true wisdom. The best places are made of concrete block on a concrete slab. It takes only a couple of weeks to replace the metal roof and funrnishings and set up a few picnic tables outside, maybe a couple under a carport roof for business in rainy weather. I ate some truly fine BBQ when I was in college. Which, as it turns out, was not terribly close to the Island Nation of Ohio and its pending Fish-In. I am interested in a potential OHFI.

Ed

P.S. Dumb-Ar$e that I am,when I was in Memphis two weeks ago, I went to a grocery store and didn’t even think to get some of custom BBQ sauces available no where else. <gnashing teeth>

Lets not forget the Jack Danial’s Invitational BBQ cook off over in Lynchburg, TN!!

Is it true that the county where Jack Daniels is made a dry county?
