I had a short list of species (7) I had hoped to catch on fly this year for the first time…Striped Bass, Blue Catfish, Northern Snakehead, Northern Sunfish, Alligator Gar, Rio Grande Cichlid, and Musky. ( I managed to catch them all this year!!)I had caught 3 Muskies and 1 Tiger Musky over the years on conventional tackle. Felt it was time to try and get them on my Fly list. I hired a guide, and a fishing buddy and I went on Friday. We would have been happy if just one of us caught a single Musky. We did better than that. I caught 3! And my buddy landed 4, including a monster 45-incher as the light was fading for the day! All on fly. Plus we lost a few and had a fair number of follows that never hit the flies. I didn’t ask permission to share my buddy’s photo that I took… So here’s just my 3 fish:
